Music of Donizetti, Verdi, Wehli, Esser, Wallace, and Campana. After 1864 he turned exclusively to opera, and in 1865 organized Campbell and Castle’s English Opera Troupe with the English tenor William Castle, with the purpose of touring and presenting operas exclusively in English.
